Ringside Casino Drawings
As an outgrowth from the St. Louis Gambling Kingpins book, JRDI has created a series of drawings that depicts an inside look of Uncle Vic and Jim's Ringside Casino. The original source of these drawings was the St. Louis Post Dispatch's artist, George Corney. In 1944, he went undercover to create a series of unauthorized drawings depicting operations inside the casino. To this day, pictures of any sort showing a gaming floor in operation is prohibited. In small size the drawings accompanied a feature story showing gambling on the East Side of St Louis and the Doyle's Ringside in particular. The level of detail is extraordinary for its time, especially considering he drew them from memory with crayon, resulting in a comic book like feel.

JRDI has extracted 5 drawings from the paper; modified and enhanced them. They have been resized to 16" by 20", and framed would make a great addition to an art gallery, entertainment center, game room or behind a bar. You might even see them at your favorite gambling establishment of today.
